Never Follow Too Closely

Riverdale Ga accident report stated that on August 28, 2022 Driver 1 advised that she was on I-75SB and had exited onto the Mt. Zion Blvd East ramp. She came to the top of the ramp at the intersection of Mt. Zion Blvd was behind Vehicle 2 and began to turn right, but Vehicle 2 stopped. Driver 1 advised that due to thinking Vehicle 2 had continued, she attempted to proceed forward and collided with the rear of Vehicle 2. Driver 2 advised that she was on I-75/SB and had exited onto Mt. Zion Blvd East ramp. She came to a stop at the top of the ramp, and rear-ended by Vehicle 1. Driver 1 had complaints of chest pain. Driver 2 complained of neck and shoulder pain. Both drivers declined transport to the hospital. Driver 1 was cited for following too closely.

Keep Your Distance

Clayton County accident report stated that on August 27, 2022 Driver 1 was traveling SB on Hwy 85 in the left turning lane to make a left onto Lamar Hutcheson Pkwy.  He stated that he was slowing down for the red light, but his brakes went out and he couldn’t stop. He rear-ended Vehicle 2. Driver 2 was in the turn lane on Hwy 85, stopped at the light when Vehicle 1 ran into the rear of her car. Driver 2 stated that she was experiencing back and neck pain, but refused medical attention. No other injuries were reported. Vehicle 2 had slight damage and the rear bumper was dislocated. Driver 1 was cited for following too closely. Note: It is your responsibility to keep your vehicle in good working order at all times. And when driving, keep your distance at least 1-1.5 car lengths behind the vehicle

Look Before Backing Up

Lawrenceville accident reports stated that on August 26, 2022 Driver 1 and Driver 2 were located in the parking lot of 150 Hurricane Shoals Rd. Both drivers were attempting to exit the parking lot.
D1 stated she began to back out of a parking spot, when D2 approached her vehicle and advised she hit her. D1 advised she never made contact with D2’s vehicle.
D2 stated she was driving through the parking lot, when D1 began to back out of a parking spot. D2 stated D1 backed into the front of her vehicle. Driver was charged with improper backing

Red Light Means Stop

Cobb County accident report stated that on August 25, 2022 Vehicle 1 was traveling WB on Concord Road at the intersection of Atlanta Road. Vehicle 2 was traveling on Atlanta Road turning left onto EB Atlanta Road.  Vehicle 1 ran the red light and struck Vehicle 2 on the front left bumper.  Driver 1 complained of head, neck and shoulder pain, and had a nose bleed and was transported to Wellstar for further treatment.  Driver 2 complained of head and neck pain also, but refused to be transported to the hospital.  Eyewitness 1, confirmed this.  Driver 1 was cited for failure to obey the authorized traffic control device.  Note:  Run a Light, Run risk of a ticket.

Pay Attention

Clayton County accident report stated that on July 20, 2022 Vehicle 2 was parked at the loading dock of 1775 Maynard H Jackson Service Road.  Vehicle 1 was also in the loading dock area next to Vehicle 2. Driver 2 essentially stated that he had just sat down in his vehicle and had not yet closed the driver’s door, when Vehicle 1 pulled forward and hit vehicle 2’s door causing damage. Driver 1 stated that he observed Driver 2 get into Vehicle 2 and thought that the door to Vehicle 2 had closed, and therefore pulled forward and hit the door of Vehicle 2. Note: Pay close attention to parked cars, starting up, in proximity to your vehicle. 

Always Yield

DeKalb County accident report stated that on July 19, 2022 based on the statements of the drivers and the physical evidence at the scene, the following was determined. Vehicle 1 struck the passenger side of Vehicle 2, while attempting to enter Rays Road, attempting to turn left (North). Driver 1 stated that she could not judge the speed of Vehicle 2 traveling South on Rays Road, and that she pulled into the road and hit Vehicle 2. No injuries were reported. Both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene. Slight damage was done to both vehicles. Driver 1 was cited for Failure to Yield Entering Roadway. Note: Whenever you enter the major road, you must yield

Struck From Behind

Fulton County accident report stated that on July 17, 2022 Driver 1 was on Sherwood Rd waiting to turn right onto Piedmont Avenue.  He stated that he thought the vehicle in front of him had proceeded forward after yielding to the traffic when he looked left and began to move forward, but Vehicle 2 had not pulled forward and he struck Vehicle 2 in the rear.  Driver 2 confirmed that she was struck from the rear while yielding to the traffic.  Driver 2 complained of head and neck pain, but refused medical treatment. No other complaints.  Driver 1 was cited for following too closely.  Note: If you strike the rear, you are always too close and at fault. 

Always look Before Advancing

Lawrewnceville accident report stated that on July 15, 2022 driver 2 said she was east on E Crogan St attempting to turn south on Jackson St when she felt an impact as the rear of V2 was struck by the front of V1.
Driver 1 said he was east on E Crogan ST attempting to turn south on Jackson St. D1 said he saw the brake lights on V2 turn off so he assumed it was pulling forward into traffic. As D1 looked to his left
he started to pull forward. V2 had not moved and as a result, the front of V1 struck the rear of V2.
Damage to both vehicles was minor and they were removed by their drivers. Mild headache wad incurred by passenger in vehicle 1

TREATED BY GWINNETT MED 15 AND TRANSPORTED TO NORTHSIDE GWINNETT WITH MINOR INJURY COMPLAINT. V1 AND V2 WAS TOWED BY LANCE WRECKER.

Hit and Run

Gwinnett County accident report stated that on June 13, 2022 an officer was called to the scene of an accident  on I-85 SB.   Driver 2 advised that he was traveling SB on I-85 in the second lane when observed another vehicle speeding up behind him, when the other vehicle struck the right side of his Vehicle, and continued driving. Driver 2 then stated that he then lost control of his vehicle and began to spin out of control. As he was spinning, he began to brake to keep from spinning into the center of the roadway, and then impacted the guard rail. After his vehicle came to a stop, he realized that the other car had sped away and he could not obtain any identifying information on Driver 1. Driver 2 stated that he was having severe left shoulder pain and believed that his shoulder was dislocated from the collision, and he was taken to  Medical Center for further medical treatment. The officer could not identify any evidence that concurred with the info given by Driver 2. No citations were given. Note:  In case of a rear ending, try to obtain vehicle description, if the license plate cannot be obtained. 

Driving on a Suspended License & Failure to Yield

Fulton County accident report stated that on June 12, 2022 Driver 1 was attempting to exit a shopping center parking lot on Roswell Rd at Hammond Dr. She said that she was about to turn left to go north, when she saw a vehicle pulling into the parking lot, as she pulled out.  She stated that she thought she had enough time to clear both the lanes and enter safely, but that when she entered the road she didn’t see Vehicle 2. Both drivers complained of injuries and required medical attention. Driver 1 was cited for failure to yield when entering the roadway. Driver 2 had no registration. Note: Pay attention while turning and have your documents in order.  

Drifting

Cobb County accident report stated that on June 11, 2022 Driver 1 advised that he was traveling SB on S. Cobb Drive near the E/W Connector in the number 2 straight lane.  He also stated that he saw Vehicle 2 approaching his vehicle in the number 1 straight lane.  Driver 1 said she and the other driver reached intersection together, both his vehicle and Vehicle 2.  But Driver 2 stated that she had pulled out of the Jr. Crickets parking lot and proceeded SB on S. Cobb Drive and that as she was passing Vehicle 1 she felt the bump and observed Vehicle 1 in her travel lane.  There was slight damage to Vehicle 1 and to Vehicle 2 as well.  This indicated that this vehicle could have been drifting to the left.  Driver 1 was cited for failure to maintain his lane.  Note:  Paying Attention Pays Off.
