DeKalb County accident report stated that April 15, 2018 an officer responded to an accident at the intersection of Candler Road and the I-20W entry ramp. Upon arrival the officer observed Vehicle 1, a large U-Haul truck with Vehicle 2’s front end slightly underneath it. Driver 2 stated that she was traveling South on Candler Road when Vehicle 1 entered the roadway from the parking lot of the Valero gas station, in an attempt to make a left turn to travel North on Candler Road. Driver 2 stated that Vehicle 1 did not have enough clearance and cut the turn too sharply, striking and partially dragging her Vehicle. Driver 1 stated that he initially had clearance but that Driver 2 drove underneath the box portion of Vehicle 1. No injuries were reported and Driver 1 was cited for Failure to Yield Entering Roadway. You must yield!
