Cobb County accident report stated that on March 7, 2015 Driver 2 says she was driving WB on the E/W Connector in the number two straight lane approaching Austell Road from the E/W Connector and that Vehicle 1 stopped in the intersection.  She said she tried to stop but was unable to and collided with Vehicle 1.   Driver 1 stated that he began to turn from the E/W Connector onto Austell after a truck had passed through the intersection.  Driver 1 proceeded through the intersection but realized he could not make it through without colliding with Vehicle 2.  Driver 2 thought Driver 1 would have to stop, but realized he was wrong.    The eyewitness, who was traveling WB on EW Connector directly behind Vehicle 2,  stated that Driver 1 started to turn left in front of Vehicle 2, then suddenly stopped in the intersection and that Driver 2 tried to avoid colliding with Vehicle 1, but couldn’t stop in time.  No injuries were reported.  Driver 1 was cited for failure to yield turning left.  Note: The left turning vehicle always yields to the traffic with the right of way.
